I'll talk to Susan and Mrs Gregory about volunteers. I think we can get a handful on board to help set up if we use the phone tree.

What can I say? [She smirks, smug, and bites down on another zucchini.] I'm just smarter than you.

Can't be helped. Newer model and all. [Coming the lean forward and rest his forearms on the surface of the island.]

It's good that you realize this now. [She leans over her plate to plant a smacking kiss on his lips.] Save you some misery in the long run.

That's the idea. Surround myself with the best and then I don't have to do anything.

[She scoffs, popping the last veggie in her mouth and then scoots her plate over to him, batting her eyelashes.] Please?

[A beat and he scoffs, taking the plate and rolling his eyes.]

Go get your shoes on. We'll hit the grocery store and get those muffins started, yeah?

[Hah. Victory. She grins at him, bright and sunny, and hops off the stool she's been perched on so that she can flounce out of the room to go find her shoes.]
